Cajun Country, Here we Come!

Yesterday we only did 20 miles because of a semi- bad thunderstorm passing through, add our laziness, and ice cold drinks, making us want to stay at this truck stop forever! After 15 days with no actual rest day, it was nice to give our muscles a break! We wound up staying the night in the back of it (Thanks to Tommy!) and got a nice breakfast of croissants and sweet tea. We plan to head to Ville Platte, which reputedly has great authentic Cajun food and music. We’ll see if we can “catch the tail end of crawfish season”!

I love Cajun food and music. It’s such happy music even when it’s blues. I hope you do catch some crawfish before time runs out. Yummy spicy crawfish. Eat plenty for me.

Cajun country . . . the very idea makes me swoon with thoughts of gumbo and zydeco and those wonderful people whose motto is “laissez les bon temps rouler!” I want to go there–and I would even like to experience it as you are, at eye level.
