Not so great day

We crossed into Louisiana this morning, and we were ecstatic! We only have a bit left to go! We were passing through several towns, and I guess we got cocky because the next thing we know- we’re in the middle of nowhere! We went 45 miles without any refreshments–or shade– and we were starting to get cranky. Then as we were about to cross the bridge that would take us to the campsite, Dad got a flat in his front tire. We fixed it up, crossed the bridge, only to find more bridge. We crossed that bridge too, and no campsite in view. We did find a cooler of Gatorade left from the hydroelectric dam workers and finally got our refreshments! Tomorrow we will get our refreshments.
At least I hope so! πŸ™‚

Really sorry to hear that you were without refreshments for that long. After crossing into Texas and past those initial towns there, you will go through a period of nothing for awhile there too. Stay stocked up just in case. You are so close but those periods of nothing can make it seem so far.

I hope the mosquitos don’t chew you up too bad. Thank goodness for the cooler of Gatorade. Keep us posted. Sometimes, we are waiting with bated breath.
    Love you Bianca.

I’m sorry you are having such a bad day–but glad you have earned another doughnut. From the GPS link you provided, I can see that you are near several rivers. I imagine it’s beautiful there . . . but mosquito-ey as well. Anyway, it’s good to get a report after a couple of days of silence. Things are (of course) quiet here, and having a neat house is getting a little boring! πŸ™‚ Take care.
