It’s a Wrap!

Well, I haven’t updated in quite a while as I’ve been so busy with school! Everything’s been going great- albeit slightly rushed. It’s hard to believe that not even a month ago I was cycling along, cherishing every break I took, every meal, and yes– every ice cube. Now I can already tell I’m starting to take all the simple things for granted again, and I’m somewhat saddened by it. I’m stating to care more about tomorrow’s outfit than the wonderful invention called AC. But, it’s to be expected. I did come out as a changed person, but in more subtle ways than becoming an athlete fanatic!

School life has been really good so far. I got re-united with my old buddies, and made a few new ones. I tried out for Volleyball and didn’t make the team, but I am still going to try for next year! In band (I play the flute) I have been getting back into the groove of things, though I am a bit rusty from not being able to practice all summer.

I do wish I could just slow things down for a bit. Every weekend I wish for just one more day to get all my stuff together. Almost every day I’m doing something and I just need an extra hour in each day to “chill out”.

So, no, I didn’t become superwoman over this trip. I grew up, saw the world, and came back home. I’m sure next year we’ll do something even further out there, but for now, I’m happy being me.

I cannot think of a better gift for a parent to give their child — I am sure it was quite a challenge at times, but getting to know each other through thick and thin on such an endeavor is a gift to last a lifetime. I wish you both well 🙂

Wonderful story, pictures. Father, you have been blessed to have such a wonderful story with your child. God bless and keep you and yours.

We just studied King Soloman at church this morning then read about your trip. Carpe diem and give thanks. Appreciate the inspiration!
